READING, Pa. – Two individuals involved in the fatal shooting of a teen in Brookline Park are headed to prison.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams announced Thursday that Anthony Boria and Henry Madera, Jr. were each found guilty of third-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, perjury, false swearing and firearms not to be carried without a license following a two-day bench trial. The pair were found not guilty of conspiracy. Â
On March 14, 2022, authorities received reports of a large fight in Reading’s Brookline Park involving anywhere from 15 to 30 individuals.

Police arrived to find 18-year-old Amiere Bibbs dead from a gunshot wound. Three other students involved in the fight were shot as well.
The fatal encounter sent shockwaves through the community, including the Governor Mifflin School District where the victims were all students.
Investigators say it started as a fistfight in Brookline Park, involving students and former students. Once the fight was over, they say there was an exchange of words between both sides.

One side of the confrontation, which included Boria and Madera, pulled out guns and fired shots towards the crowd. A total of 43 shell casings were recovered from the scene.Â
Part of the fight was caught on cellphone video, which was a key piece of evidence in identifying the shooters.
Authorities say the two gave false testimony in front of a grand jury, claiming they were nowhere near the park at the time of the shooting.
Sentencing is scheduled for December.Â
Julian Evans, who was also charged in the case, is due in court for a status hearing scheduled for November 15.Â
