A 15-year-old riding an electric motorized vehicle at the intersection of Erie Parkway and Briggs Street was hit by a passenger vehicle and taken to the hospital Friday evening, according to the Erie Police Department.
The teen remained in “serious condition” Saturday afternoon, a post from the department said.
A GoFundMe fundraising page organized by an Erie resident, for a boy who was injured late Friday “while riding his e-bike home from a friends house,” had received over $25,000 in donations as of noon Monday. Erie restaurant Piripi announced it will contribute 15% of all sales on Tuesday to support an Erie family following a Friday-night crash.
The e-bicycle accident was one of three serious crashes in Erie over the weekend. A toddler died after being struck by a car on Sunday afternoon; and an 18-year-old Commerce City man died early Sunday in a high-speed, single-car crash on Erie Parkway that seriously injured another man.
At the Shepherd Farm Flower Farmstand, 568 Briggs St., 25% of sales today will go to the two Erie families involved in the crashes, according to a Facebook post.
