The first Friday Afternoon Recital performance of 2026 at Ocean County College’s Grunin Center for the Arts is set for 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 when pianist Alexander Timofeev will take the main stage.

General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased online at grunincenter.org.

Timofeev is a Philadelphia-based composer and pianist. He’ll be presenting Alexander Scriabin’s Third Sonata, and other piano works by Bach, Mozart, Tkach and himself. Among the highlights of the program is Mozart’s lesser-known “Fantasy and Fugue in C, K. 394,” an opus that occupies a unique place in the composer’s catalog. The recital will culminate with “Fantasy on a Theme” by Mozart – a dynamic suite of eclectic character pieces merging music, dance and narration, featuring Rowan faculty dance artists Leslie Elkins and Paule Turner, and poems by Janet Fishman of Philadelphia.  —R.M.
