Myron Flemmer

October 26, 1941 – February 15, 2026

Myron Flemmer, 84, of Scranton, ND, passed away on February 15, 2026 at the Fallon County Medical Center of Baker, MT.

Memorial Services for Myron will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Peace Lutheran Church of Scranton.  Pastor Mary Peterson will officiate with burial to follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery.

Myron was born October 26, 1941 to Bernhardt and Brigetta (Wallender) Flemmer. He grew up on the family’s farm south of Beulah, ND. Myron was the eldest of three children. He was a family man and deeply loved his parents, siblings, and extended family. 

 

Myron married Evelyn Hondl on July 18, 1964. They lived in Killdeer where he began his agricultural career working at the grain elevator. He went on to manage grain elevators in Emmons County, Devils Lake, and Scranton. Myron, Evelyn, and their daughters, Dawn and Susan, also farmed near Rhame for several years. 

 

When he wasn’t hard at work, you could find Myron fishing, hunting, gardening or spending hours upon hours doing one of his favorite hobbies, woodworking. He loved taking the time to create intricate pieces that he would often gift to his family and friends once completed. He also served for many years on the Community Cupboard Board. Myron was a devoted member of his community, always lending a hand to someone in need. To know Myron was to be cared for by him. Myron didn’t know a stranger and could always come up with something to connect with others on. Myron especially loved his time with his grandchildren Shad, Morgan (Hunter), and Lane (Abby). You would find him teaching them a card game (and never taking it easy on them once they learned), helping build or create a project in the shop, or sharing one of his many childhood stories. In later years, his joy expanded with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, LJ, Lusk, and Lyla. He always lit up when they were around.

 

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those who loved him.

 

Myron is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Susan; sister, Doris (Jim) Mutzenberger; sister-in-law Nancy, his uncle Arnold(Donna) Wallender; grandchildren Shad, Morgan (Hunter), Lane (Abby); and great-grandchildren LJ, Lusk, and Lyla, His nephews Tony , Casey (Natasha), Shawn (Jackie)and niece cherie(Chad). He was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn, his parents, brother Melvin, and numerous aunts and uncles.
