NAZARETH, Pa. – The Nazareth girls basketball team know that they let a large lead slip away in an EPC tournament loss to Parkland.

Head coach Rich Bickert hopes that one of the takeaways from the setback is an understanding that they can play with anyone in the league.

“We’ve lost a couple tough games this year, to be honest with you, a couple games that we should’ve won and we ended up getting beat by some of the better teams in the league,” said Bickert. “So, I told them we can play with everybody in the district, we’ve just gotta finish it off.”

The Blue Eagles are seeded fourth and take on No. 5 Dieruff on Friday at Northampton High School. Nazareth defeated the Huskies 56-45 in late December.

“I mean, I think we’re at the same level as every team that we’re playing in districts or every team that’s in districts,” said senior Lexi Davis. “I think we have a very good shot at, you know coming out on top. We just have to get through these rough patches and really try hard and practice hard and get there.”

The quarterfinal round game begins at 6 p.m.
