The Lady Comets’ three losses have come to Hazleton Area (2) and Dallas. They average 63.0 points. … Dallas’ losses have been to Hazleton Area (2) and Crestwood. The Lady Mountaineers average 55.7 points. … North Pocono ended Scranton Prep’s eight-year reign as Lackawanna League Division I champ. The Lady Trojans have won five straight and 12 of 13. … Abington Heights’ Coleman led Lackawanna Division I in scoring and ranked third in the league. … Pittston Area rides a five-game winning streak into the playoffs. The Lady Patriots average 42.0 points. … Berwick is a young team with only two seniors on the roster. The Lady Bulldogs average 45.5 points. … Wallenpaupack started the season 6-4. The Lady Buckhorns average 35.3 points.
Bottom line: This is a tough field. Crestwood is a slight favorite, but Dallas and North Pocono certainly have the potential. Whoever wins will earn it.

The Cougars beat Mid Valley on Dec. 29 in the Lou Camoni Memorial Tournament final. … Nanticoke won the Wyoming Valley Conference Division II title for the first time since 2017. The Trojanettes, who average 50.7 points, have lost three of their last four games. … Honesdale also lost three of its last four to stumble into the playoffs. … Wyoming Area has dropped four straight and seven of its last 10 games. … Tunkhannock lost twice to Nanticoke during the WVC Division II season: 49-22 on Dec. 12 and 51-35 on Jan. 22. … Mid Valley closed the season by winning its final two games. … Hanover Area lost its last two games of the regular season.
Bottom line: Scranton Prep is the favorite to win its fourth straight district title. Valley View and Nanticoke have the best chance at stopping the Classics.
