Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker was born in Pittsburgh and was a star defensive back at Penn State 2019 to 2021.
Brisker could return to the Steel City this offseason, as ESPN NFL writer Matt Bowen listed the Steelers as the best fit for the 26-year-old free agent this offseason.
Bowen broke down his “Best team fits for the top 50 players” in NFL free agency on Tuesday, with Brisker coming in at No. 44 on the list.
“In Pittsburgh, Brisker would replace Kyle Dugger under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham,” he wrote. “Brisker can play over the top in Cover 2, and he would be a disruptive box defender in Graham’s single-high schemes. In four seasons with the Bears, Brisker had four interceptions, seven sacks and 14 pass breakups. The Steelers could also target a cornerback in free agency as they try to clean up the secondary.”
The former Nittany Lion was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft and bounced back from an injury-shortened 2024 campaign to start all 19 games (including the playoffs) during the Bears 2025 season.

Brisker was placed in the concussion protocol following Chicago’s Week 5 win against the Carolina Panthers in 2024 and didn’t return that year.
He came back in the 2025 campaign to record 93 tackles, eight passes defended, three quarterback hits and one interception during the regular season, as well a team-high 23 tackles across the Bears’ two playoff contests with two passes defended.
