Harold James ‘Scotty’ Scott
OBITUARY
Harold James Scotty Scott, 82, of Taylor, died peacefully on Saturday, February 14, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. His wife is the former Marie Fletch. The couple had celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in September. He was born in Scranton and was the son of the late Harold and Margaret Jones Scott.
Harold was defined as a fun loving, happy and jolly person, who put a smile on everyone’s face. He loved people and was always lending a helping hand. Harold’s joyful spirit was evident to everyone who knew him.
Harold retired from Kaplan Furniture Co. where he was employed as a warehouse manager. He served in the 109 th Pennsylvania Army National Guard. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and road trips and football.
He is survived by his wife Marie, four children, Steve Scott of S. Abington Twp., Michele Diana, Renee Scott and Christopher Scott, all of Scranton, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a sister, Charlene Silfee.
A Blessing service by Rev. Richard Fox will be held on Friday at 12:30 PM from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, PA. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:30AM until the time of the service.
