Trucks big and small will be on display this weekend in the Lehigh Valley.

Here’s The Morning Call’s best bets for weekend fun.

Monster Jam returns

Monster Jam is back for its annual run in the Lehigh Valley this weekend. Notably, this show — consisting of truck races, freestyle shows and meet-and-greets — is set just ahead of the Monster Jam tour World Finals, which are held in March.

There’s some intriguing truck names taking to the dirt at PPL Center, which transforms the usual hockey rink into a dirt pit: El Toro Loco, Grave Digger and Krazy Train are among the few.

Spoiler alert: It’s pretty loud.

Cedar Crest College students take the stage

Head to Cedar Crest College this weekend for a twist on the famous Harry Potter series: “Puffs.” The show is a parody “full of heart and humor,” according to the college’s website. The show opened in an off-off-Broadway New York City theater in 2015.

The show combines humor with a story about friendship and self-discovery, reads a description of the show on Cedar Crest’s website. Similar to protocol at Hogwarts, students in a wizard school are sorted into four houses: “Braves,” “Smarts,” “Snakes” and “Puffs.”

The show is directed by award-winning actor Jarrod Yuskauskas, who has served as an adjunct faculty member in Muhlenberg College and Lafayette College’s theater programs.

If you go: Show begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; it starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The college’s theater is located at 100 College Dr., Allentown. Ticket prices vary and can be found at https://cur8.com/schedule/item/18389/356424?event=131897&date=356424.
