State Rep. Manny Guzman believes Pennsylvania is at a crossroads.

Elections that will take place later this year will determine what the state looks like for years to come, the Reading Democrat said Tuesday during a campaign kickoff event. And Guzman is asking for a chance to continue having a role in shaping that future.

“Now more than ever, our community needs strong representation to make sure families can achieve economic security and build a better future,” he said.

Guzman told a crowd of about 100 people gathered at the Reverb Club that he’s seeking a fourth term to represent the 127th Legislative District at a critical moment.

“Our rights are on the line in this election, education is on the line, voting rights are on the line, LGBTQ rights are on the line, immigrant rights are on the line,” he said. “So this year we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot to protect our way of life.”

Guzman said he will continue to deliver real results for the working families he proudly represents, ensuring they have economic stability and access to opportunity.

He said his team has connected thousands of his constituents to vital services and helped them navigate a wide range of state-related issues.

“From day one, my office has worked diligently to serve our community and earn the trust of the people we serve,” Guzman said. “Constituent service is at the heart of this job, and we take that responsibility seriously every single day.”

He said he has focused on bringing back resources to the community, noting that he secured more than $85 million in state grant funding last year to support critical investments in infrastructure, public safety, education and local economic development.

Guzman said he has also been busy crafting legislation that will help residents.

During the current legislative session, he has introduced 27 bills and resolutions aimed at improving transportation infrastructure, expanding utility services, strengthening consumer protections, increasing access to mental health resources in schools and improving pharmacy safety standards across Pennsylvania.

Guzman said that if voters send him back to Harrisburg he will continue to be a champion for his constituents.

“In the next term, I will continue working hand in hand with my community to grow opportunities, improve education and ensure every family in the 127th District has the resources they need to thrive,” he said.
