OBITUARY
Laura F. Schaeffer, 103, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away at home on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
Born on March 8, 1922, in Kulptown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Kohl and Mabel Kohl.
Laura worked at AT&T Technologies as an etcher until retirement. She volunteered at the gift shop at Saint Joseph’s Hospital on 12th St. in Reading. She was in a bowling league at Bowl-A-Rama for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Matthews, wife of Dennis J. Matthews of Douglassville, PA; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and her cat Susie.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Leon M. Schaeffer and daughters Luanne and Lois Schaeffer.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sanders Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1501 N. 11th St., Reading.
A viewing will be held 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Rd., Reading.
