Skunk mating season is here in Pennsylvania and Ohio

(WKBN)- The pungent smell of skunks are in the air because it is skunk mating season in both PA and Ohio.

The ODNR says you will start seeing a lot more of them, especially at night since they’re nocturnal animals.

They won’t do much damage to your property aside from going through trash or eating pet food.

If you spot one, you know to stay away as skunks can spray up to 15-feet if they feel threatened.

Skunk mating season lasts through March.
