The Jackson County tennis teams swept Bethlehem Christian Tuesday afternoon, with the girls dominating in 5-0 fashion and the boys earning a tight 3-2 victory.
On the girls side, Skylar Xiong earned a 6-1, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles, while Quy Lan Johnson earned a quick 6-0, 6-0 sweep in No. 2 singles, and Lila Threadgill earned a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 3 singles. No. 1 doubles pair of Sydney Peterson and Isabelle Brown earned a 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 win, and No. 2 doubles tandem of Paisley Bagwell and Amelia Brown won 6-2, 6-3.
On the boys side, No. 1 doubles of Harrison Chan and Elijah Lai got the Panthers on the scoreboard with a 6-2, 6-1 win. With a 1-1 tie, No. 1 single Jarrett Burch earned a 6-2, 7-5 win to make the score 2-1. Ultimately, the night came down to No. 3 singles when Owen O’Neal broke a 2-2 tie with a 6-2, 7-5 win to secure the Panthers’ victory.
Both teams will begin region competition on March 5 against Loganville.
