WYOMISSING, Pa. – Officials in Wyomissing are providing an update on the status of repair work at the Berkshire Mall.

Wyomissing Mayor Fred Levering confirmed the mall is has been doing its part to make needed repairs and both the codes department and borough officials have been monitoring the progress of the work as it continues.

At this time, Levering says the mall’s owner, Namdar Realty Group, has been complying with the work order and has made substantial improvements to the mall’s HVAC and sprinkler system.

Due to the progress of these improvements, officials say the mall will stay open and is safe to attend.

The mayor said all HVAC systems at the mall are currently operational, expect for one that is waiting on a part needed to repair it.

Parts of the Berkshire Mall parking lot were previously fenced off for nearly a year due to safety concerns caused by sinkholes.
