EASTON, Pa. – Police in Easton say a man suspected of selling crack cocaine in the downtown area has been taken into custody.

Officers saw Jamarcus Fennel in the 300 block of Palmer Street around noon Tuesday, according to a news release from the Easton Police Department.

Fennel fled and was taken into custody after a foot pursuit, city police said.

He is being charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, fleeing and eluding police, and driving while suspended, according to authorities.

City police said he is now facing additional charges of escape and resisting arrest. He was arraigned on all charges and taken to Northampton County Prison.

Easton police vice detectives had previously attempted to take Fennel into custody during a vehicle stop, but he fled police at a high rate of speed, according to the news release.
