Rev. Roger A. Krause
OBITUARY
Reverend Rodger A. Krause, 92, of Reading, passed away Sunday, December 7th, at the Residence at Village Greens, Sinking Spring.
Rodger was born in Hazelton, on August 15, 1933, a son of the late Emma (Jack) and Ludwig Krause.
He was the widower of Violet C. (Crouse) Krause. Mrs. Krause died December 30, 2013.
Rodger was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing, He was the minister at Nativity Lutheran Church, Reading, for 34 years from December 1964 to August 1998. This January he would have been ordained for 68 years. He graduated from Muhlenberg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia
Rodger is survived by two sons Rodger J., Krause companion of Sarah Cirba and Robert A., husband of Patty Krause and Fiancee Nancy Leiby.
Rodger is also survived by a brother, John “Jack” Krause; and his 5 grandchildren: Lindsey, Andrew, Kelly, Anna and Andrea and 2 great grandchildren: Jack and Henry.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9TH at the Sanders Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 1501 North 11th Street, Reading. Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM from the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610.
Interment will be at a later time in Spies-Zion Cemetery, Mt. Penn.
