Students and staff at BPHS are getting excited for the Pittsburgh Cool Schools Polar Plunge, scheduled for Feb. 27 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium.
This event brings together the community to take a plunge into icy waters, all in support of a good cause, fundraising for the Special Olympics.
A global, non-profit organization providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities worldwide.
In the process, it helps millions.
Over 70 schools are officially associated with the project, with the highest raisers being Fox Chapel, Butler, and Shenango.
Although with $87,655 out of $100,000 raised, everything looks to be on the right track.
Support the Bethel Park team by visiting their fundraising page.
Donations can also be mailed in at the following addresses:
Special Olympics Pennsylvania
ATTN: Pittsburgh Polar Plunge
300 Cedar Ridge Drive, Suite 320
Pittsburgh, PA. 15205
People’s generosity in making donations can greatly assist in making a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Any amount counts.
Not to forget, as well, the top three fundraisers get a prize.
Funds raised through the plunge will directly benefit the Special Olympics Unified Sports teams in the Three Rivers Region.
A ticket is also open to any student or adult participating as part of a Cool School.
This ticket allows anyone to register for $0, and they must raise at least $35 on their individual page to receive a Cool Schools shirt or average at least $35 per person for your team.
Nevertheless, all should consider joining BPHS in support of the Special Olympics, a great event with an even better cause.
