SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Keeping our communities safe; That was the goal of an event on Wednesday in Lackawanna County.
8th District Congressman Rob Bresnahan and Attorney General Dave Sunday held a roundtable with local leaders on Wednesday night.
The event, centered on public safety, was hosted in Scranton. Leaders spoke about strengthening law enforcement in the area and moving public safety initiatives forward.

“We can invest into technology like we were talking about here today, a, half $1,000,000 for the Scranton Police Department for technology, but at the end of it, you still need officers, you still need first responders to show up and be able to utilize that technology,” Congressman Bresnahan said.
They also discussed different options for public safety, like technology investments and investments in officer retention and school programs.
