A longtime Morning Call journalist is now Lehigh County’s communications director.
County Executive Josh Siegel announced Wednesday that Daniel Sheehan, 59, was appointed the position, where he will be responsible for informing residents about the administration and the county’s various departments.
Sheehan, of Emmaus, covered government, education, criminal justice, business and politics during his 22 years at The Morning Call. He also wrote a weekly column about Lehigh Valley’s people, places and history during nine of those years. He graduated from Stony Brook University in New York, and began working in journalism in 1990 at two small newspapers in North Carolina.
He moved to Easton in 1993 and spent six years reporting for the Express-Times, before working for the Harrisburg Patriot-News from 1999 to 2004, according to a county news release. He started working at tThe Morning Call in 2004.
