Montclair-based MAD Global Strategy Group is expanding its national footprint again. The firm announced the addition of veteran communications executive Frank Buonomo Feb. 18.

Buonomo joins as managing director and will open and lead a new Pittsburgh office.
The move marks MAD Global‘s formal expansion into western Pennsylvania. It also strengthens the firm’s growing regional presence across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Washington. MAD Global launched its DC office last month, as NJBIZ reported.
MAD Global also operates here in New Jersey. Beyond its Montclair HQ, the firm also has a Trenton office and one in New York, reflecting rapid expansion since its 2022 founding.
Buonomo brings decades of experience in strategic communications, public relations, marketing and government relations. His career spans professional sports and financial services.
Most recently, Buonomo served as senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer at Brentwood Bank. He also founded PR and marketing firm the Buonomo Group. Previously, he held senior communications and operations roles with several professional sports franchises, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators and New York Rangers.
Opportunity in Pennsylvania
Buonomo helped establish the firm’s presence in the Keystone State in 2022. MAD Global founder and CEO Mike DuHaime said this move further strengthens the its footprint there.
