A hit-and-run suspect is in custody in Beaver County after authorities say he led them on a chase that began in Ohio Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, 27-year-old Micah Barnes fled from marked and unmarked East Palestine police when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Barnes allegedly backed into multiple police vehicles before driving toward the Pennsylvania-Ohio state line and into Beaver County. After crossing into Beaver County, authorities say Barnes lost control of his car due to the wet roads and crashed into a tree on Taggert Road in Darlington Township. Police say they approached the vehicle, but found that Barnes had already fled on foot. An unidentified passenger was found lying in the grass nearby. According to a criminal complaint, Barnes was later found near East Palestine Road and taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police. He has since been transported to the Beaver County jail and faces multiple charges including fleeing and eluding an officer and recklessly endangering another person. According to authorities, 27-year-old Micah Barnes fled from marked and unmarked East Palestine police when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
Barnes allegedly backed into multiple police vehicles before driving toward the Pennsylvania-Ohio state line and into Beaver County.
After crossing into Beaver County, authorities say Barnes lost control of his car due to the wet roads and crashed into a tree on Taggert Road in Darlington Township.
