As the city of Pittsburgh inches closer and closer to the NFL draft, all eyes are on Pittsburgh. But on Thursday morning, the focus shifted to nearby Washington County and how local businesses there can get involved as well. Washington County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Kotula says many of his members are hoping to cash in on the influx of people expected to flood the greater Pittsburgh region this spring. “We talk about the draft and how our local businesses can become involved in either vendor opportunities or even just tourism opportunities for our county as well,” said Kotula. That was one of the topics top of mind during the chamber’s Member Forum Thursday morning. Over 300 regional business leaders had the chance to hear from a number of different speakers, including Steeler Vice President of Business and Development, Dan Rooney.Kotula added, “We’re expecting, of course, an influx of several hundred thousand people to this region in under two month and I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for us to promote not only the region, but also Washington County’s place in it.”
