SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of The Lehigh Valley, otherwise known as PCFLV, is breaking ground on a new program and event space at its office in South Whitehall Township.
“We are very excited to finally be at a stage where we can start this project,” said Michelle Zenie Rounds, Executive Director of the PCFLV, and a cancer mom.
From live sporting events to scholarships, PCFLV offers more than 25 different programs for children with cancer and their families.
The new in-house space will be used to host some of their more personal programming.
“I think it provides sort of a comfortable safe space, especially for programs like support groups and art and music therapy for kiddos,” said Rounds.
Work will take around three and a half to four months to complete.
“This project is going to involve some extensive renovations inside the building as well as an expansion on the outside,” says Ron Jerdon, President of Jerdon Construction.
While the project means a lot to PCFLV, it also holds weight for the people putting it together.
“I lost my mother to cancer, my father-in-law to cancer, and my first employee I lost him to cancer as well,” said Jerdon.
The building upgrade will better serve the children and families of PCFLV For many years to come.
