PITTSBURGH, PA — A restaurant that has had success in suburban Pittsburgh soon is expanding to the heart of Downtown.

Elia Mediterranean Grill, which has a location in Warrendale, will be opening a new spot in Fifth Avenue Place. The restaurant is expected to be up and running in time for the NFL Draft’s arrival in Pittsburgh in April.

“We’re excited to officially share the launch of our new restaurant project,” a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page stated.

“Months of planning, creating, and dreaming are finally coming together, and we can’t wait to bring something special to the city. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us along the way. We’re truly excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to welcome you through our doors this spring! Stay tuned!!”

The Warrendale location menu, which likely will be duplicated at the new Downtown location, consists of cold and hot appetizers, soups and salads, flatbreads and Greek dishes such as Moussaka, Pastitsio and Chicken and Pork Souvalaki.
