TAMAQUA, Pa. – Emergency crews rushed to the Little Schuylkill River Thursday afternoon, finding a car overturned in the water.
According to 911 dispatchers, a woman drove her car into the river at around 12:30 pm.
Police confirmed it was a single‑vehicle incident, and the woman was transported to the hospital by EMS. The severity of her injuries is not yet known.

As of 1:30 p.m., the car had not been removed from the river.
Police and fire crews remained on scene as of 3 p.m.
