Weather officials warned that warm temperatures and rain could lead to ice jams in rivers and creeks across parts of Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 19.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood watch for several cities near Pittsburgh, warning that issues were “most likely” to occur among the Connoquenessing, Oil, and Redbank creeks, as well as the Allegheny and Yough rivers.
Footage filmed by Jay Dilks shows an ice jam on Oil Creek in Oil City on Thursday.

“Ice isn’t moving. It’s getting pretty high,” Dilks can be heard saying in the video.
Officials reminded people to be aware of changing conditions, writing on X: “Ice jam flooding can come with little warning. Make sure to stay vigilant of conditions near rivers/creeks and never drive through flooded roadways.” Credit: Jay Dilks via Storyful
