Brian P. Kelly Memorial 2-Mile Footrace | Downtown Scranton
Saturday, March 14, 2026 | 11:00 AM
The Brian P. Kelly Memorial 2-Mile Footrace starts in downtown Scranton on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM, giving runners a fun way to kick off parade day before the Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The relatively flat, out-and-back course runs entirely on the parade route. The race begins in front of the Scranton Cultural Center (420 N. Washington Ave.), follows the route to the one-mile turnaround near St. Peter’s Cathedral (Wyoming Ave. and Linden St.), and finishes back at the Cultural Center. The final route is subject to approval by the Race Director, with any changes announced prior to the start.
Same-day registration and packet pickup take place from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at 341 N. Washington Ave. (across from City Hall). Registration ends promptly to allow runners time to reach the starting line at Vine Street and N. Washington Avenue. Pre-registered runners will pick up bibs and shirts at the same location, and T-shirts are available for the first 80 registered runners.
Pre-registration is $12 per person, and race-day registration is $15 per person. Awards will be presented at 341 N. Washington Ave. as soon as the race concludes, with medals for the top two male and female finishers in multiple age categories. The ceremony is expected to wrap up by noon so participants can enjoy the parade. If the parade is postponed due to severe weather, the race will be postponed and held the same day as the rescheduled parade.
