The start of Lent this week means many Christians will abstain from eating any meat except fish on Fridays until Easter.

Aman’s Artisan Indian Cuisine has begun offering a seafood-heavy menu for Lent that features dishes such as curry with shrimp and fish fritters at 336 Northampton St. in Easton, head chef and co-owner Jasmeet Bansal said.
It will be available every day through April 5.
Stuffed to the Grills offers fish and chips as well as coconut shrimp every Friday through Lent at 6750 Iroquois Trail in Upper Macungie Township.
Town & Country Restaurant is offering beer-battered haddock, shrimp and free desserts every Friday through April 3 at 350 S. Walnut St. in Bath, manager George Lambrinos said, though they may continue the haddock and shrimp after that.
Kingfish American Bistro & Wine Bar is serving featured fish dishes like grilled swordfish every Friday through most likely April 3 at 3833 Freemansburg Ave. in Bethlehem Township, bar manager Lindsay DeFilippis said.
Over in Bushkill Township, Beck’s Land and Sea House offers baskets of fried cod, French fries and tartar sauce with coleslaw every Friday through April 3 at 997 Bushkill Center Road.
Just a few minutes away, Cherry Hill Hotel is serving fried cod and French fries every Friday through April 3 at 442 Bushkill Center Road, owner Kyle Kostenbader said.
