The “Hell on Wheels” pig truck is a traveling exhibit that exposes the meat industry’s advertisements of pigs on their way to slaughter.

The traveling exhibit will be in Perry Square amongst various other Erie eateries on display to the public on Feb. 23 at 12 p.m. The truck plays squealing noises and a looping message encouraging people to go vegan.

PETA has contacted several restaurants through the trucks route to encourage owners to include more vegan options on their menus.

“Every piece of pepperoni or ham sandwich was once a thinking, feeling being who suffered a terrifying trip to a violent death,” says PETA President Tracy Reiman. “PETA’s ‘Hell on Wheels’ truck is a reminder to everyone that the meat industry is a killer, and cruelty to animals isn’t just hitting a dog—it’s failing to choose vegan meals.”
