Ronald J. Valtos

OBITUARY

Ronald J. Valtos, 75, a resident of Moosic, died Monday after a brief illness. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late James J. Valtos and Mary Rukat Valtos.

The youngest of 9 siblings, Ron grew up in Dickson City and Scranton, graduating from Scranton Central High School. After high school, Ron graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in mathematics.

After college, Ron moved to White Plains, NY, where for years he was a financial advisor to several major oil companies. Ron ultimately moved to Moosic, where he was an accountant for several local businesses until he retired.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his brother John and Godson Jason. He was also an excellent problem solver. Whether it was helping his brother John re-build engines for his cars, or put a new roof on his house, or helping his brother Jerry and sister-in-law Donna with projects around their house. When anyone needed help, Ron was just a phone call away.

Above all, everyone who knew him knew Ron loved a good laugh. Throughout the years, he kept us laughing with every one of his stories, jokes, and observations made during a life well lived. He was a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his brothers John and Gerald Valtos, nieces and nephews including Jason Valtos, Esq., Newark, DE., and several close friends who were there to help Ron when he needed it.

The funeral will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
