The National Weather Service (NWS) reported the ice closest to Buffalo is “fast ice,” which, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center is a type of ice that is anchored to the shore and does not move with winds or currents. The NWS also reported the estimated thickness was between 12-28 inches. Credit: @‌weather_buffalo via Storyful
