The National Weather Service released a winter storm watch at 1:01 p.m. on Saturday valid from Sunday 10 p.m. until Tuesday 7 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.
“Heavy lake enhanced snow possible. Potential for 6 inches or more of accumulation,” adds the weather service. “Light snow will spread into the region Sunday with minimal accumulations, mainly on grassy surfaces. Heavier lake enhanced snow will develop late Sunday evening, with periods of heavy snowfall possible Sunday night into Monday night.”
“Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” explains the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.”
