PENNSYLVANIA (WHP) — The National Weather Service released Saturday afternoon a winter storm warning for “a portion of central Pennsylvania.”
The affected area includes Perry, Schuylkill, Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster counties.
The warning is in effect from 5 a.m. Sunday to 1 p.m. Monday, with total snow accumulations between 6-12 inches possible.
According to the warning, winds could gust as high as 40 mph with the potential to down power lines and cause sporadic power outages.
Travel could be “very difficult to impossible” during the winter storm conditions and could impact the Monday morning commute, the warning said.
People should consider delaying travel and use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
An additional warning was sent out for Cumberland and Perry counties that called for 5-9 inches of snow and wind gusts as high as 35 miles per hour.
