Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Toth
OBITUARY
Elizabeth “Betty” Toth, 94, of Dickson City, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after a brief illness.
Born in Dickson City, she was preceded in death by her much-loved and missed mother, Mary Toth. She was a 1949 graduate of Dickson City High School and a 1950 graduate of Lackawanna College. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a secretary by ICS Corporation, Scranton.
Betty loved talk radio, her soap operas, and attending all Broadway and local theater shows. She read the newspaper from the front to the back, and there was absolutely nothing she missed. If you wanted to know what was going on in Dickson City, or anywhere else for that matter, ask Betty. Betty also loved animals. There was not a day that went by that the neighborhood squirrels didn’t get their daily dose of peanuts.
Betty’s greatest treasure in life wasn’t any material possessions but the many friends she acquired in her 94 years. She always greeted everyone with a kind word and lots of conversation. Before you knew it, Betty would know your life story and would never forget it or you.
As Betty always did, take the time and pay attention to the people you meet. You never know when you too might have the good fortune to meet a “Betty”.
A private blessing service was held for Betty. Her soul is in heaven, and she will eternally rest next to her beloved mother and grandmother at Valley View Cemetery, Montdale.
Arrangements are by the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA. To leave an online condolence, visit the funeral home website.
