Erie County Parks, Recreation & Forestry has rolled out its Commemorative Tree Program, where people can memorialize a loved one by purchasing a tree, to be planted in their name. This program is a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone special, while beautifying the parks and supporting Mother Nature.

“Memorialize a loved one or special event through the installation of one of our most important natural resources: trees.” – Erie County Parks, Recreation & Forestry

Anyone looking to participate in the program can choose the species of tree that they would like to have planted, as well the Erie County Park where it should be planted (not every tree species is appropriate for every selected location). A list of tree species can be found here.

Each memorial tree planting is a $500 donation.
