Eric Choi scored the game-winner off an assist from Kayden Puiu with about nine minutes left in the second half to lead No. 3 Delaware Valley to a 2-1 win over No. 6 Hazleton Area in the District 2-4 Class 4A subregional quarterfinals Wednesday at Delaware Valley.

Jason Nagy added a goal in the first half on a penalty kick for the Warriors.

Delaware Valley will face No. 2 Wilkes-Barre Area on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the semifinals at Wilkes-Barre Area.

Wilkes-Barre Area 6, West Scranton 0: At Wolfpack Stadium, Johnny Mendola had a hat trick in the second half as the No. 2 seed Wolfpack advance to the Districts 2-4 Class 4A subregional semifinals.

With his three goals, Mendola broke the single-season scoring record with 24 goals.

Walther Garcia and Austyn Lepore each scored in the first half to give the Wolfpack a 2-0 lead. Aiden Witczak netted WBA’s sixth goal.

Leandro Espinoza added three assists in the victory.

WBA will host Delaware Valley on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the semifinals. The No. 3 Warriors were a 2-1 winner over No. 6 Hazleton Area.

Juma Sylvain scored in overtime off an assist from Luke Flanagan to lead No. 8 Scranton Prep to a 4-3 win over No. 9 Montrose on Tuesday in a District 2 Class 2A play-in game at Scranton Prep.

Sylvain also had the game-tying with 2:38 left in regulation.

Tyler Bianchi and Soleil Shrestha each added a goal and an assist for the Cavaliers.

Adam Sorensen had two goals for the Meteors.

Scranton Prep will be at No. 1 Lake-Lehman in the quarterfinals Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
