The Wyoming Valley Stamp Club will hold a Halloween event 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Hoyt Library, 284 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with a children’s Trick or Treat table, a “Haunted Library” in the Stamp Club’s display case, spooky stamps and a presentation on horror and Halloween stamps. Dia de los Muertos, for ages 7 and older, 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at the West Pittston Library, 200 Exeter Ave., West Pittston. If you’ve seen the Disney film “Coco” you know the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertas celebrates the importance of family, community, a sense of belonging, tradition and remembrance. This event will help kids better understand the holiday with facts and traditions, photos, videos and hands-on projects. Trick or Treat on Halloween. Children are welcome to visit the Children’s Wing of the Osterhout Free Library, 71 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, in costume from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Stop in and receive a treat.

Book Launch Reception to meet Andrew Greer, author of “More Than a President, Sundays with Jimmy Carter,” 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Hoyt Library, 284 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Tickets are $45 per person and are available for purchase the library. Andrew Greer, a nine-time Dove Award-nominated singer and songwriter will also entertain with musical selections. The Hoyt Library is offering individuals and families an opportunity to purchase a Commemorative Bench to memorialize and honor a loved one, a significant individual, or a special event, for placement in the Geraldine Ruddy Hourigan Courtyard. All commemorative benches are 6 feet long, cedar colored high-gloss resin, black frame and black engraved lettering.
