Gov. Shapiro to provide update on Pennsylvania winter storm

Gov. Josh Shapiro and state officials are scheduled to provide an update on Pennsylvania’s preparations for a winter storm expected to impact the region from Sunday afternoon through Monday. The press conference has ended. Officials will outline the state’s ongoing preparedness efforts, including coordination with the following to ensure resources are in place and ready to respond: Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Pennsylvania National Guard (PANG) County emergency management teams Shapiro will be joined by Director Randy Padfield of PEMA, Lt. Colonel George Bivens, Acting Commissioner of the PSP, Major General John R. Pippy, Adjutant General of Pennsylvania and head of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) and Secretary Mike Carroll of PennDOT. The conference is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. at PEMA Headquarters in Harrisburg.
