TONIGHT: Periods of Snow, Some Locally Heavy. Tapering to Snow Showers after 2 AM. Low 35.
MONDAY: Cloudy, Few Scattered Snow Showers, Windy. Gusts up to 40 mph. Hi 36.
The snow ramps into this evening/night as the Nor’Easter strengthens off the coast. Most valley locations should be in line to receive about 4 inches of snow, possibly a bit less where melting continues longer. Roadways may see the least accumulation, especially those well traveled. However, secondary roadways are already seeing snow on them this evening.
The strengthening low near the coast will lead to additional areas of heavy snow across eastern PA. Parts of Lebanon, York and Lancaster counties could see additional heavy snow Sunday night into Monday, leading to some totals over 4″. Far eastern Lebanon County, and far eastern Lancaster County could see over 8″ of snow. Another band of heavy snow is also expected just west of the Susquehanna River over some of the ridges and valleys extending down to the Maryland line.
The steady snow will begin to wrap up after 2 AM with scattered snow showers remaining through dawn Monday. Monday itself will only see a few scattered snow showers, but overall the majority of the snow is long gone. Winds will be stronger though on the back side of the storm with gusts likely between 30 and 40 mph.
Tuesday should be cold, but a day with more sunshine. By Wednesday we are tracking some light precipitation in the form of rain and snow showers. More details to follow after the passage of this storm.
