Investigators are searching for an Upper Darby man in the murder Thursday night of a Wilmington man in Collingdale Park.
Police are looking for Zafeer Sabree Wright, 22, of the 400 block of South Cedar Lane in the death of Naushad Khan, 26, about 11:15 p.m.
Accord to the criminal complaint filed by Collingdale Police Officer William Carter and Delaware County Detective Brian Pot:
Police were called to the park in the 500 block of Jackson Avenue at that time for a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, police located Khan on the ground in the tree line at the end of Jackson Avenue. He had suffered two gunshots to the torso. Medics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene at 11:23 p.m.
Two shell casings were located on Jackson a short distance from where Khan’s body was found.
A witness at the scene told detectives they saw Wright shoot Khan.
Wright does not have a permit to carry a firearm.
Police have filed charges of criminal homicide, murder in the first degree, murder in the third degree, firearm not to be carried without a license and possession of an instrument of crime.
Investigators say Wright has not yet been apprehended.
On Friday morning police served a warrant at Wright’s Upper Darby home but he was not located.
