The 14-year-old victim from Aldan was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with a leg injury.
According to a report from Upper Darby police Lt. Daniel Oliveri:
Officers responded Saturday about 1:45 p.m. to the 1700 block of South State Road for a pedestrian struck.
On location, officers found the teen lying in the roadway with the striking vehicle and its operator, who remained on location.
The driver stated that he was pulling out of a business, Delco Mulch, and turned right onto State Road toward West Chester Pike when the juvenile, on the scooter, was struck.
Police said the juvenile was driving the scooter in the right lane towards oncoming traffic, and the vehicle operator did not see him.
Police said there were no traffic violations. The juvenile suffered a broken leg and collarbone.
