OBITUARY

Carol F. Boyle, 82, formerly of Peckville and Dickson City, passed away Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in 1980.

Born in Scranton, Carol was the daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline Zajaczkowski Grochowski. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Parochial School and St. Pat’s High School and earned a degree in teaching attending Marywood College. Carol continued her education at the University of Scranton, Lackawanna Junior College, and Luzerne County Community College. She was a certified CPR instructor for the Red Cross, an emergency medical technician for 25 years in Lackawanna County, and a dedicated member of the Dickson City Ambulance Association.

Carol was a woman of character and a very active member of Daffodils Days, which is associated with cancer charities. She was a very dedicated member of her bowling league, loved to read, and was a member of the Community Library and attended many events and functions. After her retirement she started to do hand embroidery and made many beautiful gifts for family and friends.

Carol was a very loving daughter, aunt, and cousin, and had many friends who will truly miss her.

The family would like to extend a very big thank you to all the staff of Greenridge for making her feel so special every day while residing there. They would also like to extend appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care they provided in her final days as she made her way home.

Carol is survived by her cousins, Christina Lasewicz, Chrissy Lasewicz, Tasha Kucharski and husband Steve, and Lisa and David Benson; great-nieces and nephews.

Carol’s funeral will be Friday, October 24th, at 10am. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Friends and family may call Friday, October 24th, 8-10am, at the funeral home. Entombment, St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City.
