PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Snow started falling on Sunday. The Poconos is expected to be one of the hardest hit areas in Northeast Pennsylvania.
Newswatch 16’s Nikki Krize was live in Mount Pocono and says the snow is heavy. The wind is blowing in every direction. Roads are covered in snow. That’s also creating some snow drifts, accumulation on the ground varying from 3 to 5 inches.
Newswatch 16’s Andy Palumbo was in Carbondale with a look at conditions in Lackawanna County. He says not a lot there. Vehicles are getting around with no issues. Most schools in the area have a 2-hour delay. Snow totals in the up valley are topping out around 1.5 inches.
Andy also checked arrivals and departures at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport. There is only one flight cancellation, and that was a flight to Chicago. American Airlines’ service to Philadelphia was also canceled Monday morning.
