BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A nonprofit in Bethlehem, called SPIN, serves intellectual, developmental, and autism communities of all ages.

SPIN stands for Special People in the Northeast, and it provides housing and has an employment team that assesses your strengths and interests while helping you explore potential career paths.

It also helps people define their career goals and matches them with the right-fit job.

SPIN also provides ongoing support throughout that job.

Organizers at SPIN say they want to create an environment where everyone, including those with different abilities, feel valued and can be fully involved.

“We really want the job to be meaningful and for them to be successful and really enjoy what they’re doing. So, we support people are a variety of businesses. Everything from law firms to ice cream shops to veterinary clinics,” says Jenifer Schaadt, Division Director at SPIN. “We really get to know the person– their strengths, their interests and really set them up for success.”

So, how can you help?

They do have some openings at their Allentown and Bethlehem locations. They are looking for people with a wide range of skills.

SPIN offers internships and they take donations on their website.
