BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Saturday evening, Saint Francis defeated Lehigh, 4-2. With the loss, the Mountain Hawks fell to 2-6 on the season. With the win, Saint Francis improved to 5-6 on the season.

“Tough 2-5 loss against SFU. We competed hard on every court and put ourselves in position again, but losing the doubles point proved costly. I’m proud of the fight we showed, we’ll reset quickly and get right back after it,” said head coach Sophia Geier.

The match began with doubles action, where Saint Francis claimed the doubles point after Skye Yonehara and Audrey Harrington picked up a win on Court 3.

In singles play, Maggie Forkner defeated Dasha Chichkina on Court 1, 6-4, 6-2. On Court 3, Giselle Vlassis earned a three-set win over Gabriela Almanza, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The Red Flash secured victories on Courts 2, 4 and 5 to clinch the match.
