WEST READING, Pa. – At Los Arrieros, it’s their first time participating. Owner Carolina Sanchez said West Reading Restaurant Week is a chance to introduce Colombian flavors to the community.
“It’s where we showcase some really delicious, good dishes, in a way that we can combine appetizer, dessert, drinks, and main course dish, for $25 or $40,” Sanchez said.
She said one of the stars of the menu is their freshly made arroz con pollo, rice with chicken. And yes, she said they will be open seven days this week.
“Very excited. It’s our first time … we hope we get a lot of customers and people that want to try the Colombian food,” Sanchez said.
Just down the avenue at The American Diner, they are running specials for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Manager Rebecca Worley said it is something they look forward to every year.
“We see a lot of new customers coming in during that week … so we enjoy serving new food items and having new customers come in,” Worley said.
Restaurant Weeks have become a lifeline for restaurants across the country. They help small businesses get through the quieter parts of the year.
West Reading Restaurant Week runs through Feb. 28.
