ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A historic blizzard smacked most of the Northeast, leaving some areas buried in three feet of snow. While we dodged the worst of the storm, for those closer to the coast, it’s a different story.
Rhode Island tops the nation in snow from the nor’easter. Most of the state was buried in more than three feet. At last check, West Warwick got 36.2 inches of snow. TF Green Airport outside Providence has the highest snow total in New England at 38 inches.
From West Warwick to 160 miles south down I-95. The latest snowfall totals for New York City are up to 19 inches. Videos from Central Park look like they could’ve been taken at the North Pole. Officials in New York say that the storm could rank among the city’s 10 worst in 150 years.
Meanwhile, Atlantic City, New Jersey, got just under 17 inches of snow. A.C. broke its daily snowfall record which was set in 1987 at 6.5 inches.
New Jersey’s highest total was 28 inches in Carlstadt, Bergen County.
