According to Sheriff John Garcia, ErieCo Sheriff allows deputies to better connect and engage with the community while also providing a new way for residents to submit anonymous tips. The app can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

“We are thrilled to partner with tip411 and offer our residents an even easier way to connect with our deputies,” said Sheriff Garcia. “Strong partnerships and relationships with the community are necessary to provide effective public safety services. Our new smartphone application gives everyone across Erie County a safe and completely anonymous way to share information, report concerns and work with us to prevent crime and protect our communities.”

All tips that are submitted will be reviewed by Sheriff’s Office personnel. Anyone without a smartphone can send an anonymous tip by texting “ECSO” and their message to 847411 (tip411). The Sheriff’s Office says any and all emergencies should still be reported by calling or texting 911.

“We’ve listened to feedback from partners like the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and have built a more advanced and innovative product to help agencies better engage their communities,” said tip411 President Terry Halsch. “The ErieCo Sheriff app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve the public’s access to agency alerts, social media channels, important information, and more to help fight crime.”
