The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new anonymous tip application, ErieCo Sheriff, a smartphone app that allows users to receive news and alerts from the ECSO, as well as submit tips.

According to the sheriff’s office, all tips can be anonymous and will be reviewed by sheriff’s office personnel. If you do not have a smartphone, you can send anonymous text tips by texting the keyword “ECSO” and your message to 847411 (tip411).

“We are thrilled to partner with tip411 and offer our residents an even easier way to connect with our deputies,” said Sheriff John Garcia. “Strong partnerships and relationships with the community are necessary to provide effective public safety services. Our new smartphone application gives everyone across Erie County a safe and completely anonymous way to share information, report concerns and work with us to prevent crime and protect our communities.”

The ErieCo Sheriff app can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

“We’ve listened to feedback from partners like the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and have built a more advanced and innovative product to help agencies better engage their communities,” said tip411 President Terry Halsch. “The ErieCo Sheriff app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve the public’s access to agency alerts, social media channels, important information, and more to help fight crime.”
