WILKES-BARRE — A man from Laflin pleaded guilty to firing shots into a neighbor’s house that endangered a resident last summer.

Robert J. Nasternak, 73, of Laflin Road, pled guilty to discharge of a firearm into an occupied residence and reckless endangerment before Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Wilkes-Barre, in court records, alleged Nasternak woke up on June 16, 2025, and fired at least five shots from a .308-caliber rifle. Two shots struck a neighbor’s occupied house, and two shots struck a parked vehicle, court records say.

State police in court records alleged Nasternak claimed he had a dream that people wanted to hurt him and went to his garage, where he fired the shots.

Nasternak remains free on bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 7.
